The Hijabi Pop Art Collection: Art That You Have to See to Believe

Six illustration. Six women. And when you hold your phone up to any one of them, the work comes jumps off the canvas.

The Hijabi Pop Art Collection was created as a celebration of identity, geometry, and the contemporary Muslim woman, built on the mathematical foundations of Islamic geometric art. Each piece is a portrait. Each one contains an augmented reality layer, unlocked through the ARTIVIVE app. APPLE ANDROID

It was the first augmented reality art collection in Saudi Arabia.

The six pieces are: Batoola Girl, Bubble Pop, La Vie En Rose, Geometric Pop, Bam Pop, and Space Pop. Space Pop includes a portrait of Rayyanah Barnawi, Saudi Arabia's first female astronaut. I had the privilege of presenting that portrait to her in person and she also recieved another one of my artworks at the Gala Dinner that evening as well.

The first print of the collection sold out. It has been exhibited at Saudi National Day 2023 at NOFA Resort a Radisson Collection, Riyadh, and is currently on exhibition at Al Khozama Hotel at KAUST. It was featured on Bored Panda and continues to reach new audiences through the technology embedded in every frame which was just recreated this month with new and exciting treasures to unlock inside each piece.

If you havent seen artwork like this before, it can be initially challenging to figure out all the ways it can be used. For example: These artworks can have anything hidden inside them. From welcoming people to your event or location / restaurant etc (my artworks can talk!) as well as including the artworks as a part of a corporate retreat. I can hide elements inside the artworks as well as links to websites. Videos, logos, etc can be added - all hidden inside the artwork until it is unlocked.

If you are interested in commissioning a similar collection for a hotel, an event, or a cultural institution, I would love to talk. Work that moves, literally and figuratively, is something I know how to make.
