KAUST in Sixty Seconds
Project type
Art Book
Date
January 2026
Location
KAUST, Saudi Arabia
KAUST in 60 Seconds is a visually driven art book that explores imagination, creativity, and innovation through the re-imagining of everyday objects. Created through a rapid sketching practice, each artwork begins with something familiar and transforms it into something unexpected, demonstrating how a simple shift in perspective can unlock new ideas.
Developed by the author as a creative tool, the 60-second time constraint removes the expectation of perfection and encourages intuitive thinking, experimentation, and momentum allowing imagination to breath. The result is a collection of playful yet thoughtful images that reflect imagination as a mindset. One that supports problem-solving, innovation, and creative confidence.
Inspired by life within the KAUST community in Saudi Arabia, this book reflects a culture where creativity, science, and exploration intersect. It invites readers to look again at what is already around them and consider how new possibilities often emerge from the ordinary.
KAUST in 60 Seconds is ideal for:
art and design lovers
creative thinkers and innovators
scientists and students
families and educators
anyone interested in creativity, visual thinking, and perspective shifts
A celebration of imagination applied to the everyday and a reminder that extraordinary ideas often begin in familiar places.
